You can permanently delete your Homies account and personal data directly from within the app at any time — no email or form required.
How to Delete Your Account
- Open the Homies app on your device.
- Tap your profile avatar in the top-left corner of the Home screen to open Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom, to the Account section.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm when prompted. You will be asked to confirm twice before anything is deleted.
Deletion is permanent and immediate. There is no grace period or undo.
What Gets Deleted Immediately
When you delete your account, the following is permanently removed from our servers:
- Your account credentials (email address and user ID)
- Your display name and profile
- Your household membership
- Your home/away presence history and any location data
- Your push notification tokens
- Your notification preferences and in-app notification history
If you are the only member of a household, that household and all of its data (expenses, chores, home location) is deleted along with your account. If you are the admin of a household that still has other members, ownership is automatically transferred to the longest-standing co-member before your account is removed, so they keep access.
What Is Retained (Anonymised)
So your remaining household members keep an accurate shared ledger, the following records are kept but permanently de-identified — your name, email and user ID are stripped and you appear only as "former member":
- Expense entries you created or took part in (amounts, categories, dates)
- Debt settlement records
- Chore completion history
No personal data is attached to these retained records. If you were the sole member of your household, nothing is retained — everything is deleted.
Third-Party Data
Crash and diagnostic data sent to Sentry (our error-monitoring provider) is automatically deleted after up to 90 days under Sentry's standard retention policy. It contains no personal identifiers beyond a household ID and the error context at the time of a crash.

If you can no longer sign in to delete your account yourself, email us and we'll do it for you:
